I downloaded your GraphStudio.exe and executed it. Windows produced an error message, telling me that XmlLite.dll couldn’t be found and aborted. GraphStudio wouldn’t start.

    What should I do, please?

    Best regards,

    You should download xmllite.dll.
I think it is a part of windows updates. In any case it can easily by downloaded, just try googling for it.

Check Source Filter window/dialog which is popped up when you insert a filter with IFileSourceFilter interface. File combo box control needs a window style that allows typing in a path, which longer than the window can show (CBS_AUTOHSCROLL?)

LOL. Nice one. Thanks for the info.

When in the insert filter dialog and selecting the ‘Windows Mixer Renderer 9′, and pressing ‘Property Page’ there will be a crash. (windows vista system).

I would like to see an option to size the ‘Filter Details’, it’s a bit to small.

    Keep up the Great work!

I want to work on GraphStudio but main hurdle in working on it is that no documentation is found on internet for it.

Can you sugess me any site or tutorial for ow to wok on graphstudio?

  11. By Igor Janos on Apr 2, 2009

Well.. it’s a one-man hobby project and I really did not have time to write any documentation nor tutorials :) If you are skilled with DirectShow and MFC you should have no problems working with GraphStudio source code.

I would recommend you to try to build the project on your own PC and try to read the source to find its basic structure. IMHO it is not very complicated.

Hi! I am very satisfied by GraphStudio - good program. Unfortunately, all of GraphEdit derivatives, including itself, suffer from common problem - they don’t display some property pages. The most obvious case - VMR9 property page (the video controls one). The only solution I know is to install DXSDK with DirectShow integrated (Summer 2003 upgrade, for instance). Is there more convenient solution?

You only need a single file - proppage.dll. Register it with regsvr32.exe and you’re good to go.

Just posting here to say Thank You for this fine piece of software.
I’ve been trying to do something in GraphEdit all day, and failed. With GraphStudio on the other hand, I succeeded within minutes.

    I just wish I’d run across this sooner d;

    Thanks again!

    to Igor Janos:
Thank you very much. I wonder, why it isn’t done by Platform SDK setup. Thanks again.

    Thanks, it’s a great tool.

If I may, a feature I’d like to propose would be a search box in the “insert filters” dialog.

For some strange reason GraphStudio has stopped loading in Windows 7RC. This worked fine for the past month but now it just loads onto the taskbar but the main program interface will not load after selecting it from the taskbar.

Is there anyway to troubleshoot this as I have tried to re-download but still experience the same issue?

    Kind Regards

Is it possible that you have used a two-monitor system, left graphstudio on the secondary monitor and then deactivated it?
Try rightclicking the taskbar graphstudio button and toggle Maximize/Restore state. It might return to visible area again.

  25. By tylor on Jun 7, 2009

I’m afraidI dont think that is the issue as I dont use dual screens. I dont have the option to maximise on windows 7 from the taskbar.

If I right click and “open” GS from the taskbar it just opens another version of GS that I am still unable to activate??

Very confusing as it worked fine on windows 7 a few days previously and I dont recall chaning any settings. I was just wondering if there are any log files which could help to troubleshoot?

    Kind Regards

    Try deleting this registry key:

That did the trick Igor :->

Thank you very much for the prompt assistance and excellent program - keep up the great work.
